JP goes to Neil Pryde. Neil Pryde Limited has purchased the rights to the JP Australia brand name and from July 1st 2000 they will be taking it in their new direction.JP is perceived as an extension of the F2 range into the hi-end market but since all the JP and F2 boards have in any case been designed by Peter Thommen, he will simply extend his F2 development program to cover the super high performance area. The new range will carry a multi character identity, however be completely under the F2 banner.
Peter Thommen ‘s boards have carried the majority of champions to their world titles and this proves that F2 has brought and will continue to bring the very finest and most innovative equipment to the market place.
Peter Thommen: “It is with obvious regret that I see the JP boards go out of my shaping room. In lots of ways this brand is my baby. I was instrumental in the start-up of the range and responsible for the product development. I am very proud of it’s success, they are surely some of the finest boards on the market. But let’s not forget: Change is good! Change is evolution! Change made windsurfing to what it is today!
You can be assured that I am keen to pick up the challenge and develop even better products for our new high performance range. I have my experience, inspiration and the most valuable test riders I can count on.”Upon his own request, the co-operation between Martin Brander and F2 has been terminated. F2, from the design to the marketing has never been the work of one individual and the company will continue to be run by a formidable team of experts from every corner of the industry. This highly dedicated F2 Team will ensure the brand`s authenticity well into the next years. So watch out for our next step into the new Millennium!
