FANATIC’S LATEST FALCONS TAKE FLIGHT
Fanatic´s shaper Sebastian Wenzel has announced two hot new Falcon Raceboards:
Falcon Slalom 80, a new 55cm wide high wind slalom-machine for the fastest ride in the most challenging slalom conditions, and the Falcon Speed, a dedicated 48cm wide speed board for both flat and choppy water speed attempts, combining ease of use with blistering record breaking performance!
With these 2 shapes, the complete Falcon line now caters for all conditions and rider styles. The Falcon Slalom 80 and Falcon Speed are “early release models” for the 2006/7 line and will stay within the Fanatic line-up for 18 months until September 2007. Both shapes are also registered and eligible for use in PWA, ISA and ISAF events as fully registered production boards.
Both boards will be available in the shops around May/June and online on http://www.fanatic.com around mid of May.

FALCON 80
Sebatian Wenzel:
“The Falcon 80 is born from the R&D of our Speedboards and our successful Falcon Slalom range, the perfect mix of pure speed and slalom sailing. I too used to love high wind slalom, but always battled with control and ease of use on the older type slalom boards. I am definitely looking forward to riding this board in my free time, as it is just so easy with all the speed kick you ever need. The new Slalom 80 is 245cm long
and 55cm wide, super easy to jibe and control, making it the first choice for highwind blasting. The slightly stretched outline gives control and reduces area around the footstraps.”Fanatic head tester Pieter Bijl:
“With the smallest Slalomboard in our line there are no more excuses that it´s too windy! The Falcon 80 has a huge range. The mono concave tail is a perfect balance between light wind lift and control in high wind. Ample rail tuck under and a double concave under the front foot give a smooth ride and easy gibing. The reality is that a board like this is used even in the roughest conditions. With a length of 245 you can load up the rail in gybes, without worrying about pushing the nose into the chop. Also the length keeps the outline and rocker straight so that there is a good balance not only during gybing but also in the straights.”
Sebastian with some features on the Falcon Slalom 80:
– Mono concave power tail
– V/double concave mid section
– Comfortable and ergonomic power rail shape
– Smooth volume flow
– Perfectly trimmed scoop rocker line from our Speed R&D
– Special parallel high wind Outline
– CAD designed and CAM machined
Carbon Sandwich Technology:Uses the best quality and highest technical specification of carbon material currently available on the market. A perfect weight to stiffness ratio, as a result of its very fine weave. Full carbon sandwich is used in the new Falcon Slalom 80.

Flight control at speeds of more than 40 knots! Built for one use only…… SPEED! The smooth, frictionless rocker line and moderate width create the best combination for maximum speed in all water conditions. At 48cm wide and 242cm long, the Falcon Speed has superb control in choppy water and easily carries a very wide variety of sail sizes. The CAD designed scoop-rocker line allows a lower trim over the water,
ensuring great control and easy gibing, at the highest speeds. The mono-concave tail section has a slight tail rocker for a very free ride at all times. More tail volume gives power and drive, whilst the front section is a little thinner, for control in rough conditions. A perfect feeling of “firm footing” and ultimate confidence, essential when pushing your limits at high speeds. Our test team and pro-riders all loved the Falcon Speed’s great stability when they were “ maxed to gills!”Fanatic head tester Pieter Bijl:
“I was on one of the earlier protos in Tarifa last summer and the board just wanted to go faster and faster. I was really surprised by how easy it was in GPS speeds over 40 knots. A lot of top speeds where reached and as we continued the development the boards only became easier with better acceleration, purely from being so comfortable! On this board the ease of use and the performance really go hand in hand. With the
wide point a little further forward the board is stable, keeps trim and has control. The only limit is you!“Sebastian with some features on the Falcon Speed:
– CAD designed and CAM machined
– CAD designed continuous speed scoop rocker
– Mono concave tail section
– Double concave mid section for acceleration and smooth ride
– Comfortable rail design for better control
– Narrow outline for max. control and top speed
– Power volume flow
