    hej

I’m new to the swedish kite forum. I’m going to be working in gothenburg from late feburary for 3-4 months and will hopefully have access to a car.

I’m looking for some advice about kitesurfing locations near Gothenburg (within 2 hours) and any other advise needed to be able to kitesurf in Sweden.

Sorry I cant speak any swedish I am the typical englishman although i may google the odd word :smirk:

    tack
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
    Welcome!
There are a bunch of kiters in the Gothenburg area so I´m sure you´ll meet up with some of us.

The best place to go is down south to Varberg which is about 45min-1hour drive. Otherwise there are a couple of spots that are closer that work for specific wind-directions for example Askim, Torkelstorp, Rågelund, Björlanda, Draget…

February and march are still pretty cold and then it becomes becomes bearable in april. Bring all the neoprene you have…

And bring the winter-suite for snow-kiting.

Thanks lots of good advice there. looks like sweden has alot of good options. I’l get a new pair of boots and gloves, hood and thermal rashies.

I’d love to snowkite but i’v never even snowboarded so unless i learn before then i’l stick to the sea.

As for bringing boose i’v already been requested to bring as many tins of ginness as i can!

    Thanks
    Ben

hehe sounds good! Snowkite is pretty easy start with. You barely need some skills in snowboard…

    hej hej

I arrived in Gothenburg on sunday. Just a little bit of snow and the sea is frozen from what i saw from the plain.

I’m staying in nya valvet and have a choice of two cars at the weekends. (volvos of course). My gears is being sent out next week but i think there will be a little wait before i get into the water here.

    😀
