Since being bought by Factory Media early this year, thankfully very little has changed at Boardseeker – we’re still operating independently to bring you all the best of British and world windsurfing as it happens. And actually, some things were bound to improve, most notably our testing. Because our adopted sister magazine BOARDS has drafted in Adrian Jones and his dutiful Clones to conduct their testing too. The bottom line is more funding, for more testing, more often…
More budget means nearly double the testing every season – so much so, in fact, that Adrian and his men of mystery have been forced overseas for some intensive testing in reliable wind to complement their UK-based analysis. In fact, they’ve visited two locations already: Prasonisi on Rhodes for the 7m no-cam sails and 120L freerides, and they’ve literally just landed after a fortnight in firing El Médano on Tenerife for the 75L and 85L waveboards, 4.2/4.7m and 5.3m wave sails. As ever, wave testing will continue off the beaches of North Wales for a while yet too so we can bring you our most comprehensive results ever.
So, here’s how it’s going to work. Although the full tests will be published in BOARDS first, the week before that’s even printed we will bring you a full overview. Keep an eye on the front page next week for all the vital stats on the freeride sails and boards, full text will be printed in BOARDS Mag the following week, and then just a couple of weeks later you’ll be able to read the full tests here. Absolutely free – same as it ever was, just much earlier and much more of it!
Anyway, excited to have finally been let out of the country the Clones couldn’t wait to show off their holiday snaps – so we thought we’d share a few…
