Mera Hypersonic!
Mycke funderingar kring Hypersonic nu.

Hello Michal,
My experience has been that the Hypersonic is as fast on a reach in
Force 4 Bft -F 6 Bft (11-27 knots) as any board I’ve sailed against.
I haven’t sailed against the boards you mentioned, so they may be a bit faster, or not.
I have sailed the 270 and 260 F2 Thommens and I hope to test the
Hypersonic directly against them as soon as it warms up or I get down toot Florida.(It needs to warm up a bit down there as well)
But within this entire range the Hypersonic 105 is alot easier and more forgiving than any other fast slalom board I’ve ever sailed.
Just keep the power on, and let the board do it’s job and you will go very fast.
When i have tested with dedicated slalom boards (see Frank Weston’s
”Hypersonic Report”) like a Pro-Tech slalom race board, the speeds have been pretty much equal when reaching on the fastest course for the Pro-Tech, but I could easily pull away by heading 10 deg. up or downwind.
This was with the stock 34 cm fin and a 7.0 Retro against the Pro-Tech with a 7.2 (??) Gaastra Nitro III or IV.
Everywhere else I’ve sailed with 5.0- 9.8 rigs the Hypersonic was clearly
the fastest board on the water, once you get accustomed to sailing it,
and learning to simply push it harder, trusting the board design to keep
the bottom side down.
It’s somewhat different than the F2 Thommens I have as they demand
being ”controlled” where the Hypersonic you can just keep things headed
in the approximate direction and drive it faster without worries about catching rails, etc.
For those of you who don’t plan to race, the Hypersonic’s will be the
fastest and widest range board you can possbily purchase.
Some folks think it’s only good in 6.0 and bigger conditions, but they
simply haven’t had the pleasure to sail it when all the other sailors are
using < 95 liter slalom boards and 4.0-4.8 m2 rigs. Put a 5.0 Retro or
other stable recreational sail on the Hypersonic and you will leave the
vast majority of other sailors in your wake.
If another sailor seems to be keeping up with you on a reach, just head up, or down, and they will very quickly fade away behind.
i’ve sailed mostly on pretty flat water (chop =< 0.5 m) , and have NEVER stuffed the nose, but it always looks like it's pretty low due to the fact that the top of the Hypersonic has almost no nose rocker, all the nose rocker in built into the bottom.
Hope this helps,
Roger

Nån kommenterade att de sett Anders Bringdal i sjuklig hastighet på sin 95l. Den å andra sidan har ju inte samma vindregister som Hypersonicen.
