Nu har speedutmaningen i Saintes de Maries börjat.
Nu har det startat upp tävlingen i speed kanalen och de verkar ha lite problem med kanalen och dess underhåll. Men det går tydligen fort ändå
Som jag förtod det, så är det bara 3-4 seglare som har testat i några timmar och detta är resultatet hitills.

The first impression I got of the Canal was at 7:15am and it was a perfect direction on a flat course blowing about 30 knots. I really saw the potential right away and got prepared as they were calling for the wind to increase.The course opened at 10am as it took quite some time to rig. My first run felt ok but I didn’t have much pressure at all on my 5.8 so I was surprised to see that I was at 41 knots already.
The second run I got a decent gust at the start but lacked pressure through the mid section as the wind was about 30knots at the start and 25-27 in the middle. I was happy to see that I was up at 42 knots with wind unusually light to achieve ok times like these and with all of my gear being brand new with no tuning at all.

We opened at 10am because the wind forecast said the best of the wind would be between 11am and 1pm.Finian achieved a 41.91 knots run in I would say 30 knots of South wind, a wind direction which happens rarely down here. Other riders got ready. Thierry, Martin at 36.5 knots and Rudiger, who did 38.5 knots with a small Nitro 5.1

Finian Maynard är ju bara 0.05 knop från Bringdals svenska rekord.
De tog ju Bringdal veckor, för att komma upp i samma fart som Finian gjorde på sitt andra försök.
Slutsats?? Speedkanalen är snabbaste platsen eller så är Finian Maynard grymt snabb???

egentligen är bara speed på
öppet det som räknas.
Tarifa blir grymt platt också
men testcentren vill nog inte ha dit speedseglare
de förlorar ju intäkter för brädhyra då.
