Good steady winds with conditions that are well suited for beginners are not easy to find in the Sthlm area… To rent equipment in Stockholm is possible, I believe there are 3-4 places where you can rent. If you want good windsurfing you will have to leave Stockholm, either to Öland or to Skåne. Both these areas has good locations for beginners, on Öland the spot is “Haga Park”, in Skåne you can choose between “Klagshamn” or “Habo Ljung” (Lomma). If you join for instance LBWS (Lomma Buktens Windsurfing Sällskap, http://www.lbws.com) I believe that they have beginners equipment that you can rent very cheap. The problem is that Lomma (in Skåne) is some 550km away. Im from Stockholm myself and i almost never surf in Stockholm, instead i take my car to the south of Sweden, its worth every cent…If you might need a ride to Skåne you can hitch a ride no problem.

I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the winds are weak and gusty but there is equipment that works here. The Kona board for example, and big freerides and formulas. There are several clubs here, one in Österskär and one on djursholm, that both have Kona boards.

thanks a lot for the info, my next holiday destination in Sweden will certainly be in the south somewhere 🙂 Will try out the other recommendations since I can’t wait to be on a board again!
