Närmsta flygplats är Colombo International. Från flygplatsen är det 3-4 timmars resa till Kalpitiya. Enklast är helt klart att ta en taxi, det kostar runt 50 EUR. Annars kan man åka lokalbuss, lite stökigt och tar lång tid men billigt.

Some of you may have Heard- about the Knew Spot in Sri Lanka. After the civil war in the North of Sri Lanka has ended, there has been Kalpitiya uncovered as new hotspot for kitesurf and windsurf. The Spot has a Big Lagoon, called Kalpitiya Lagoon, which has flat water and is Perfect for Beginners freeriders and freestylers. I went there for my Last Holiday and stayed with De Silva Windresort. They have the largest kite-and windsurf School and the latest Equipment. The School is directly on the Lagoon and they also offer boat Transfers to the Visavis Sandbank. I stayed in one of the surf cabanas but they do have also other Accommodation possibilities. The Most i liked the Upper-Deck chillout Lounge with view on the Lagoon, relaxing in a hammock and drinking a Beer;) cheers! 8)
