Where can you get engine harnesses?

There is a safer way, but its a bit slow. I’ve used it a few times.
If there is a buoy in the water or some post then you can use that. Otherwise you need to make a strong launching bag that you can fill with rocks. The idea is to set up for a tethered launch like you do on land with a dog-leash. Feed the lines out like on the drift-launch video. Instead of letting the kite go, connect the chicken loop to the post/bag/buoy and walk out with the kite 90 degrees to the wind. When the lines are tight put the kite sideways on the water. If the wind is steady it will stay there just like on land. If gusty it might fall in the water and head downwind. Either way you don’t let the kite go until you see that there are no line tangles. Get to the bar and launch.
There are aways things that could go wrong of course…
[oops Tommy already gave the same answer…]

Is it shallow? Drift launching is not so hard but there are other safer methods if you can walk.

Got a phone number for Uffe by PM, thanks.
I also got this link from Gong:

This is the only fusion repair info I have found on the web. Nice description, but needs lots of stuff I don’t have: foaming epoxy, fusion router template,

Tack för svaret. Cabrinha ser bra ut men inte det bäst om man ofta använda våtsko. Med Doyle och NSI (som e lite äldre?) är jag rädd att det blir ganske lik dem som han redan har. Men tack. Och det är kanske värt att slänga dem upp på köp o sälj endå.

Agree with the tape suggestion. I’d add that the thicker kind of tape called insignia tape (the stuff they use to make sail numbers) seems to hold up a bit better than the super thin spinnaker tape. In any case one trick is to really warm the tape up before you peel the backing paper off. Then the glue gets nice and sticky.

Hmmm, maybe I’ll just get a skim and a pig. Or a skim and a freerace…

Yep, seen very cool vids of skim action (check out Mark Shinn’s in particular), but back in the real world I never seem to see ordinary dudes having real fun on skimboards. But yes, they are much cheaper, so I wouldn’t mind giving ’em a go.
