Idag söndagen den 27:e April så lades stenmarkeringarna ut i Klagshamn! “Alla” stenar är nu markerade igen precis som föregående år.
Alla utom folkabussen! This huge stone wasn’t found (I don’t think it was marked last year either), but apparently ‘only eats formula fins’. So until someone successfully relocates it, it will lurk in waiting for its next victim.
For people unfamiliar with the buoys at Klagshamn, some of the stones are marked with poles which mark the stone as it lies. THEN there are the floating buoys that are attached by rope to an anchor. Depending on the ‘vattenstånd’ and the wind direction these can be as far away from the stone as 5m. So leave a good margin when sailing past.

Men som sagt åter till frågan om segling utan stenar, är man safe väster om klubbstugan?eller bäst att höra med locals på plats?Tänkte köra innan den 3/5…
Yeah, you are pretty much safe to sail west of the clubhouse. It’s pretty clear where the edge of the sandbank is, where the stones lay waiting in the shallows. It stretches from 100m west of the club house (just before the gate there is an old boat ramp) and stretches all the way south to Höllviken. Just look at an aerial photo of the area, and you’ll see what I mean. No stones where it’s deep. 🙂
Just stay away from that border where you see it gets shallow and you should be fine. Any locals that know better feel free to correct me if there are some hidden beasts that I don’t know about.

Malmö Windsurfingklubb har idag bodar på östra Ribersborg där dem förvarar sin, samt medlemmars utrustning och bedriver verksamhet på sommaren för Malmös många ungdomar.
Just a detail if it makes any difference. My swedish isn’t the best so I don’t know if with ‘bodar’ you mean just the storage containers. They have a clubhouse and the storage containers.
Good work, it’s starting to sound like a formidable letter now.

I don’t know anyone in the club but tried to find a phone number to someone in the club but couldn’t ring yesterday evening due to other stuff. Will try again tonight when people are home from work.
There hasn’t been any recent response on the WS thread.

Should they all go to Eva Lundquist, or is there a certain department we write to? I’ll go back and read the thread and article, but I don’t remember a specific department being mentioned. I’d hate for it to get lost in their mail room.
Cheers.

Medlem2 april, 2008 vid 20:29 som svar på: Förbud mot vindsurfing på Ribersborgstranden i Malmö?!Does anyone know if the Windsurfing club has approached the relevant officials yet? Things may have more clout when voiced from organisations. I see that the kitesurfers have made in-roads and are making contacts with various officials.

Anyway, off the write a letter myself, hope it helps.

… yeah, but my buddies don’t like me.
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds all cool, we’ll see if I can get some time over to put pen on paper. 😉

Just wondering, if you don’t get enough entries to make it a contest would you still use one of the entries if you thought it was good enough, and award the prize? Or if you end up using an entry for something else?
Or are you (we) giving up all rights as soon as we sent it in? Hope I don’t sound grumpy 🙂 I might be able to put some time into it and just want to know what the deal is.
Cheers.

Having a place like Sandy Point to sail at would certainly bump up your times.
When the tide is right you’re sailing only a couple of feet from the sand bank on seriously flat water… well, as flat as it gets in 30-40 knots . That coupled with the prevailing SW storms/winds that often hit that corner of Australia certainly make it an experience.
Mmm, memories.
After thought: now that I look at my little id pic, I notice that it is taken at SP on one of those smooth as butter speed runs, but back in ’92. Ok, enough crapping on about the good old days. 😕

Windguru can give you an idea of what’s going to happen. Was on Naxos last year and it was almost correct. Gave an idea of the wind for the week at least.

You’ll have to choose the ‘spot’ as I have no idea of where you are going.
Have fun.

Shimsa? Vad är det?
Bit of svenelska I reckon.
Shimmy: to shake, wobble, or vibrate.
It’s also an American ragtime dance marked by shaking of the hips and shoulders. Which would probably be the result of trying to get that b#gger of a piece of beer can to sit next to the fin.🙂
