    Hi Jerome,

To be a member and have your stuff at the club shouldn’t be too much of a problem. We moved into Malmö last year and needed to keep our gear somewhere and there was a small waiting list (over winter before the season) but once the club opened up in spring we could move our gear in virtually straight away. Just depends on how many people leave the club, which seems to always happen. You know, people leave town, stop sailing and such. Not because the club is crap or anything. 😉 I suggest you start a thread in the ‘Konfen Vindsurfing’ asking for a contact number for new members to the club. Hopefully, BadJanne or someone with the info will read it and pass on the message. That way you don’t have to wait until the website starts up.

    Good luck.

My wife has the same wetsuit as schonki and was fine for autumn until at least october (I think) last year (later than that she couldn’t be bothered to go sailing). She hasn’t sailed yet this year so don’t know if it’s too cold for her now. As her neck doesn’t fit the 3000 5/3 that well, my guess is that she would get a might cold shock if she ‘fick en spolning’. Otherwise I reckon it would be fine. This is where, as others have said, a västhuva (for her case), good booties and gloves make a huge difference in keeping the water/cold out.

Try the kitesurfing forum here. You have landed in the windsurfing section.

Give http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/default.asp a try. It’s ok for info, beit for west or east coast acton.

    Have a great time.

Yeah, I’ll definitely giving it a go after 12.00. Will keep to the outside of the sandbank though, to avoid any hidden surprises lurking under the surface.

Just wish I’d bought that 3.7 a while back as DMI are estimating 14-17m/s in the arvo. 🙂

Got one too. Love it. Super stretchy and very comfortable. Have only used it about 15 times, or so, since last autumn so can’t really comment on durability.

Although, my wife got the 3000 (5/3) model and after a year of use, the light grey super stretchy rubber (area around the shoulders) is showing signs of degeneration (krakelerat), but her model has larger areas of this rubber. So I’m not too worried about my 4000 as it uses a much smaller amount under the arm pits/sides. So far I am very happy with mine.

Tony, if you do go keep your eyes peeled for a skinny guy with white helmet. There’s a chance I’ll be going down there with w/s gear and me lady (still can’t bring myself to say wife yet). Did you say your kite was a camouflage thing?

Yep, only losen the two tvärgående insex-skruvarna. Just make sure you get a tendon especially for the NP base. Ones from other brands can vary a mm or two in thickness making it impossible to get the thing back in.

A week ago I put on an old cut down wave/freestyle fin (has some curve and rake) and after a few runs I noticed that I was sailing slightly sideways and not quite up to speed. I looked down to see a few strands of seagrass trailing from the fin. I couldn’t jump it loose so had to stop to clear it. Went in and changed to a weedy. Could have been unlucky though, and picked up the only threads out there. Hard to say, you might be okay without one. There were a few freestylers there today but I didn’t see what they were using.

Was watching ‘Worlds most amazing videos’ late last night on chanel 6 and saw that guy (few years old, the vid, not the guy) get caught in a thermal on Maui. 20 or so metres in the air and dumped behind trees at least 50 from where he started the jump from water.

That’s what I call hang time… friggin’ freaky. Wasn’t that badly busted up either, considering his flight.

All I can say is, ‘kudos to Niklas’ for an award winning thread title. Gives me a giggle everytime I read it.

    Classic!

hehheh, I have spoken to the windsurfers down there and they are totally cool with us kiting down there.
Howdy, I don’t know if ALL are totally cool about it though. I have been w/surfing there for a year (haven’t kited for ages) and the few kiters that have been there have kept to themselves, causing no probs that I’ve heard of.

Whether there is a ban or allamansrätt allows for kiting or not, I’ll leave it to the legal eagles. You guys har bättre koll på sånt. But I have seen kiters set up where Skotten mentions.

All I am saying is that even though there are w/surfers that tolerate kiters in the area, I think the club as a whole has the policy of not.

Sticky situation for those wanting to kite there. Bit like a dog with rabies, you don’t know if it’s going to bite or not. 🙁

    Good winds.

    Tony,

Been a while since I’ve dropped you a line. Still haven’t gone for a kite yet as my heads been elsewhere. Got hitched, the honeymoon, and what wind there has been has been spent w/surfing, as my girlfr… wife is becoming totally obsessed with it.

But I haven’t given up the idea of getting back into kiting. Where at Bunkerflo do you go, or is it obvious when you get there? I wouldn’t mind dropping by to check it out. Let me know if you get a chain gang together… I could do with some extra back exercises.

    Cheers, Petter.

Några erfarenheter?I used to get headaches quite often (have sailed for years), I am susceptible to headaches anyway but they were guaranteed from w/s, but are now less common. As mentioned before it was from ‘white knuckled’ sailing – tensing up my shoulders and neck muscles. Now I consciously relax. AND from vätskabrist; headaches sometimes used to disappear after downing a litre of water after a sail. Now I drink during (water that is), hic.
