I haven’t windsurfed there but that’s where I spent my days as a lad. Either you’ll be staying north of the bridge, if by the coast, or south of the bridge. If you are north of the bridge Long Reef beach (next to Collaroy and DeeWy beaches), which catches the summer sea breezes well, is probably the most popular.
Then there is south of the bridge with Botany Bay (flat water) and maybe a couple of the beaches on the south side are sailable. I haven’t really been to these beaches to know which ones work but I have heard Wanda coming up in coversation.
I have heard that the south coast is great with a larger ‘utbud’ and is more accessable for Sydneyites (quicker to get to a good break) than the central coast (which is north of sydney).
Here are a couple of sites that may be of help. I have only found one forum for Australian windsurfing and it is:
http://seabreeze.com.au/forums/default.asp
The next one is self explainatary: (New South Wales windsurfing)
http://www.nswwavesailing.org/
Let me know where your folks live and I can give you a pointer as to its accessablility to surf.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Petter.

KA kan har rätt mycket; loose (floppy) down to the 3rd batten, om så önskat. My brother sailed with a little looseness in the leech and the owner of KA commented that he should start putting ‘some’ downhaul into the sail. 😉 He meant that it should be quite floppy (down to the 3rd batten).

Something like this? The owner distributes to various shops in Sweden, or, if you are in skåne you could catch him out on the water.

I’ve got one and have used it about 20 times. So far it has worked flawlessly but it did make a crunching noise today when tightening the last few centimetres. I reckon it was salt or a grain of sand that I didn’t rinse from yesterday (well I hope that’s all it was).
It does downhaul easier (or is neater) if the ‘rollers’ on the sail are parallel with the sail and not at right angles to it (don’t know how to describe it but works best on my Naish and Simmer). The big plus for me is that it saves my wonky back a lot of grief.
And yeah, I make an adjustment in the water about every time I’m out sailing. Although I found out yesterday that I couldn’t release the downhaul, out on the water, with a pro-limit style (mine is a copy I think) mast base, as it was wide enough to not allow the lever to complete the release function (works fine with my NP though). If you don’t know what I’m on about drop me a pm if you want more of an explanation.
My biggest sail is a 6.0 wave.

[QUOTE=bonasurEfter vad jag förstått så är där inte mycket vin på bali.
Next you gonna tell me they don’t even have beer! 😀

Had a friend who was part of a lobby group in England to clean up the sh*t infested water where they surfed. Happend to be near a sewage outlet, not the cleanest of waters, right. Anyway, their recommendation was to drink a can of Coke after each surf… killed any nasties that happened to wander down ya gullet after a ‘kallsup’.
I liked the whisky thing, gotta keep a flask in the sail bag me thinks…

Sure thing. Out curiosity I think I will go down to check it out. Whether I sail or not is another matter. If it seems doable I can give you a call/report. -
Not too sure, I’m still learning my way around the different weather sites and I saw babilidoo’s chart above which suggests 8m/s. If it ends up being a steady 8m/s (16kts) then probably enough for me to get going. My gears down there so it’s easy just to gun it there for a look see.

I was by there on Monday and I am pretty sure they haven’t put out the markings yet. But that ain’t stopping me from a sail today if the wind gets up. 🙂 -
Dude, Lomma would be great!
I’ll give you a call today (Wednesday) in the hope my friends can get it to your brother.
